We are metta. –Bhante GunaratnaMany people assume that not being aware of the body as fragile, impermanent, and ever-aging is a strategy to reduce death anxiety.  (As James Joyce wrote of one of his characters: ‘Mr. Duffy lived a short distance from his body.’)
It seems counter-intuitive, but fully entering our direct embodied experience is a path to significant reduction, and potentially the total removal, of death anxiety.  This is the promise of the Buddha: ‘those who taste mindfulness immersed in the body taste the deathless.’   
This retreat will invite us to engage in practices that investigate our unexamined familiar. Investigation opens us to a world beyond boredom and frustration into a realm of mystery and wonder.

These insights when accompanied with continuous practice can culminate in ‘the unshakable deliverance of the heart.’

9:50 – 10:20 Walking Meditation
10:20 – 11:00 Meditation
11:00 – 11:45 ish Reflections and discussion
11:45 -12:30 Lunch Break
12:30 – 1:15 Meditation
1:15 – 2:00 Q & A and closing reflections
