In April, Community Dharma Leader Margo McLoughlin will offer a four-part course on Thursday evenings. Inspired by the words of Sufi mystic, Jelaluddin Rumi, the title of the class is “Under the Tree of Awe: Cultivating the Five Spiritual Faculties.” Each week, we will explore the role of faith, effort, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom on the path of practice.
Mindfulness invites us into present moment awareness. Presence naturally leads to interest and care. In times of great change, we are challenged to renew our commitment to practice, not just for our own peace of mind, but for the benefit of all beings. Each of the Spiritual Faculties offers a pathway to embody our deep appreciation and wonder for this precious human birth and the changing world in which we live. |
